Reinstalled my engine this afternoon and after a couple of minutes running the green fuel delivery line popped out of the FPR. The quick fit connector seems to be faulty - it clicks on but is easily pulled back out. I don’t particularly want to replace the entire fuel line right now!

I’m tempted to cut the connector off, then cut the same connector from my donor and find a barb coupler to join it back on to the fuel line, with some jubilees.

It’s late… does this sound like a stupid or good idea? Haha!

Also does anyone know what size the pipe is?

Many thanks,

Robb

If you do it and works means it was a good idea, if it leaks it was not ;) ... meanwhile google out "fuel line quick connector" cos there is a huge variety of them on the market some of them cheaper than chips

Haha! Good philosophy… I ordered a 8mm Barb which arrived today (judged on the size of the fuel line), but what I didn’t account for was that there is an inner 6mm plastic line on the inside of the rubber one… annoying! But fairly certain if I use a bit of heat to insert a 6mm it will do the job!

Aha! In the knowledge that I had another spare quick connect from my doner connected to the fuel cooler, I just went ahead and tried to pull the inner tab mechanism out from the inside of the connector… and it actually comes out quite easily if treated with care! The plastic teeth inside the quick connect that clamp around the ridge on the metal connector from the FPR were worn, causing it to pop off under pressure. So these tabs can be detached and replaced! Excellent, and good to know…
