hi guys,

My 2000 TD5 Disco has develooed a fuel leak. Looks like it's at the back of the engine block somewhere. It's been dripping for about six months now (just a few spots each time you stop). The whole bay is covered in diesel smelling oil!

My indie has looked at it this afternoon and doesn't really fancy it as he's a self confessed Tdi expert and still getting up to speed on Td5's!!

Is there a common problem here, and if so how easy it is to fix?

cheers

Wilf

The leak is probably the fuel pressure regulator at the rear right hand side of the engine. It is a common problem. I changed my own at home without removing anything else but you do need small hands and to be flexable because there is no room to work.

totaly agree withh 4x4forks.. i also did my own with a large pair of hands !!
do-able but tight!!

Mine has developed this also. Does anyone have a picture of the fuel pressure regulator and / or its location to check its the same part?
