Hi i have a vogue se 2011. When fuel gauge is on a 1/4 i go to fill up it only lets me put in a max of 50 quid of diesel. Pump clicks to say its full. When i put gauge on its show no more than just under 1/2 . Anyone have any idea ? Ive.only just bought it. Prev had 05 vogue and no probs. Help ! Dave

Try a different pump at a different garage and try holding the nozzle at a different angle in the filler. I used to get this on my old car, i found it often worked best at a particular angle with the pump nozzle half out of the car

Could be the sender for the second part of the tank isn’t working - think there’s a technical bulletin on it

I suspect its the sender(s). If you do what the garage forecourt tell you NOT to do (as in "Topping Off") so you are certain she is really physically full, then if the gauge is still low it rather points to that being the case.
I've not had any issues with either of my Rangies and thousands of miles/£'s of refills. The gauge goes down plenty quick enough once the engine is running :D

Hi i have booked it in for next friday, after chatting to the mechanic he concures with what you have said. I shall let you know the outcome asap. Thanks.
#update# so garage confirmed that even tho gauge is reading empty there is 1/2 tank of fuel. He cleaned up connectors etc . Emptied fuel and refilled and it worked fine . I drove home parked up and turned back on and the gauge had stopped working. So looks like a replacement of some parts. Does anyone else have the " battery low start engine" as soon as they get in the car ? Within 1 min mine shows this ! Is this normal or a battery problem. ? Any help would be appreciated. Dave

Ours showed the message but it seemed to be coming up earlier and earlier last summer, come the winter and the cold, then the battery gave up. So I would say it is probably connected to battery condition. Just prior to the battery finally telling it had had enough a few other spurious warnings came up too.

I haven’t seen the warning since, but don’t often sit in car without it running now.

the battery message is probably correct. Do you do a lot of short runs? If you do, it would pay to get a Smart Charger (Aldi & Lidl do good ones very cheap) and put it on charge once a week.

Hi thanks, i do have a smart charger so i will try that. Someone has recently told me that with the range rover i have you cant sit and say listen to the radio without running the engine. My 06 rr didnt have this issue but obviously things change.

There are so many things draining the battery on modern cars that if you want to sit and listen to the radio, buy a small portable radio:rolleyes::D
