Is this the right spec atf for the autobox? I ordered the parts already (bought the whole kit) just wanting to know if its the right atf fluid as im going to be doing this job. Took it to a dealer and wanted $800 haha. They are mad, ill rather learn as much as i can from my car. Thanks to this forum and the members.

I ended up buying the castrol import multi vehicle atf. And the solenoid kit comes in wednesday. I read the rave and some stuff on here on how to go by it. Only real thing tripping me up is refilling the autobox.

That should be the least of your worries. "Hippo" posted a NICE "step by step" how to do it.

If you have a hoist (or a pit), replacing the solenoids is easy. Unbolt the cooler, and move it to the side, so you can reach all the bolts for the pan. Not a big deal, but it takes some effort if you have to lay on the ground. Hoist is the best for that.

Nice you just saved me a hassle

And THAT my friend, is why the forums like this are worth being on! It doesn't matter if you run into an a$$ho1e once in a while, it doesn't matter is some anonymous calls you names either.

Saving time and money is what it's all about, and there are PLENTY of people here to offer a helpfull advice.

Good luck, and let us know when all is sorted.

Ok job took about 3 hours with busted knuckles and a bit of cursing and spit. F4 is gone also, and i am very happy about that. all i need to do is autocheck the fluid. when i try to remove the screw. all it does is spins around. is it supposed to do this?

yes, im still able to reverse and its a 14mm bolt right next to the gear selector deal right? i think it might be stripped out. the car seems to be running fine. no gear selection problem or noise as heard before while changing atf. IF it aint broke dont fix it right lol any thing i can do to remove the bolt?

I have the allen key type:p

Try levering the bolt out with a flat head screw driver whist turning it....it may grab a thread...

Or a pair of mole grips with some downward pressure whilst turning:)
