Its a 95 300tdi es nice motor to drive and be in , its got all the gadgets air con etc its just bl$$dy slow
Have you binned the EGR?
If not you might find that doing so helps

Between 30 & 35mpg seems to be the average but that you can forget if you put your foot down on the motorway ours will nearly do a ton but dont recomend it.Fuel consumption gets silly over 60/70mph.

Mine is 200 tdi K reg and it does roughly 30 -34 mpg at 60mph I sometimes go 70 -80 mph but it drinks the expensive fuel! Hoping to turn to boidiesel so can make thousands of litres!! _) but some people said biodieselm is bad for my TDI ie injections etc wil pack up dunno if that is true

Don't bother just put Veg oil in 50/50 in the winter 65/35 rest of the time.
Yes usually ****s trying to sell vegoil conversion kits. Don't believe em they're full of ****e.

used to have a 200 tdi in my 84 range rover i owned a few years back would do an indicated 105 on the speedo and return about 28mpg at speeds above the motorway limit of 70(all overseas,good ole days)stick to 40-50 on a run it would return about 38-40mpg

Well it all seems positive so far. I would actually rather have a Freelander Commercial, but there don't seem to be many around for my small budget. I wanted as much space as possible for the dogs as they are really the only passengers!
We're going to look at the Disco tomorrow and my husband has already convinced himself that we're buying it and he's trying to convince me too, but I'm determined not to let him talk me into what he wants this time as I'm the only driver. Don't bother with them unless you have VERY deep pockets, just look in the freelander section.

That's what I was told about the Disco! I bought a Freelander.
Not a petrol one I hope. only big problm on a disco is body rot. Which is easily sorted if you don't let it get the upperhand. The major problems on freelanders especially petrol ones are too many to list in one post. and the increased cost of keeping them on the road will easily wipe out any savings you make on fuel economy.
Yes, it's a petrol. We had to get what we could for the little money we had. I need something with plenty of room for two large dogs and with the seats folded forward they have loads of room. They seem to be very popular as most of the ones I phoned up to see were sold. I've heard good reports and bad so I took a gamble.

I'd have gone for a disco you'd have got more for your money. and if or when it breaks it would have been much much cheaper than any thing on the Gaylander. The 1.8K series petrol are notorious for poor build quality and head gasket failure. (HGF) have a search on here and I hope you don't come to regret your gamble.
