Can anybody tell me if you "swap" the rear diff over to the front?

My front one is on it's way out and I was going to swap them over for a pair of LSDs, but as things are a tad tight I was wondering if I could replace the front one with the one I have in the rear (which is all ok) and then drop in an LSD into the rear.

Opinions please.

As long as you don't mind the pinion running on the reverse face of the crown wheel. The diffs are handed.

The diffs are handed they turn in different directions. So if you put a rear diff in the front the pinion will bare on the opposite face of the crown wheel teeth. As if the rear diff is constantly in reverse.
