According to the manual, you pull the stalk to operate front and press end to operate rear washers. The front washers work ok but when I press stalk the front washers operate instead of rear.

Has anyone had this issue? Is it a problem with the BCU software?

That is correct for MY2005. You push the stalk forward for rear window. Assume 2012 is the same.
Pushing the arm forwards operates the rear wiper. It is the rear washers that should operate when I press the end of the stalk. At the moment rather than thawashe

Thanks for all of your help. I misread the manual, seemed odd to have two ways to do the same thing, and had just had BCU changed so jumped to the wrong conclusion. Tried the proper way and I can hear pump but no fluid comes out should be an easy fix.

Unless the pipe has come off and you have to fish it out ...

They do the same thing but not quite. Button gives an 'autowash' , as in it squirts water and operates wipes. Pulling stalking to you squirts water, but then you must operate the wipers. This allows for those pain in the bum patches that sometimes get missed to have water run down and over, so that on operation of wipers, they are cleaned.

On mine (2012) they both do the same thing. Maybe it can be set in the CCF
I would have to double check what a prolonged pull does but on mine a quick pull/release just squirts water and then need to do up or down on stalk for wiper. Button push gives a squirt of water and measured number of wipes. It does seem redundant for both motions to do the same thing though.

Mostly a pull on mine does a squirt and wipe but occasionally it does just squirt so needs an up or down motion :)
Maybe it depends if it's on the auto wipe setting which mine usually is.

I tried mine. A short movement does water only. A prolonged movement btings on both. I wonder how it affects the 5 wipe -headlamp wipers activate movement.
Mines got 2006 front end so no wipers. Also got perm low washer fluid which I believe stops headlamp wash function to save fluid.

yes the headlight washer doesnt operate when its low level
honestly i dont see the point in them, they just waste water, at least wipers clear the dirt off
