I have searched so forgive me if this is a known issue.

When I open the driver's door there is a horrible creak sound (think haunted house) when most of the way open - just as it is passing the resistance that keeps it open in a breeze.

All the hinges etc. seem well greased - tons of copper grease.

Everything looks to work fine but it sounds bad and makes it feel like a cheap old banger.

Ideas?

Can of spray grease and door check strap needs spraying inside the door using straw supplied with can. Work door open and closed a few times.

if that doesn't sort it try lifting the door up and down from the door catch end with door open just in case you have a worn hinge pin.

Thanks for the replies. I have fair soaked the door check strap and the hinges themselves have copious copper grease already. Still sounds the same though. It is a horrible graunch of a noise. Passenger door and boot do it but much quieter and I am suspecting it is simply a case of TADTS.
