Looks like we don't have to threaten them with a can of petrol and a match. Whilst coming home from Milton Keynes on the A43, one had blocked both lanes southbound cos it had spontaneously caught fire. Were also a couple of police defenders, not usually seen nowadays. Looked quite nice.

perhaps it hadn't spontaneously combusted!! perhaps the landrover police had been chasing it and set it alight for crimes against the landrover name:D:D

It's usually discos (especially v8's with lpg) that catch fire on the move.:(

any idea what the cause is?

No. I've picked up quite a few that have gone up at the back end I spose due to wiring faults:confused: and then quite a few where they've gone up at the front end presumably due to fuel leaks in the engine bay.

Today on the M4 hard shoulder - 1 Ford Escort, 1 Military Defender, 2 (yes TWO) Freelanders. What is it about Land Rovers...? (I'll ignore the Escort - it was old and looked knackered)
