A considered opinion after 5 years of ownership. Well, FL1's are not rubbish, that's for sure. LR sold hundreds of thousands of them around the world. Was it rushed into production, yes, was the K series engine a poor choice in this application, yes, is the IRD/VCU set up all a bit snake oil, yes. But its a neat looking comfortable little road car that will pull a trailer off a muddy field. Do I ever want another one er no. Do I have any regrets re buying mine, no not really, maybe should have gone for a Disco! Anyhow as said not rubbish but equally no classic in the making. I'm sure if you have an oil burner or perhaps V6 and you have carried out all the mods, then you may have a different view.
