Hi, this is my first post so I apologise for any lack of etiquette! I recently noticed that if I was driving at 70mph and just lifted my foot off the accelerator then reapplied it that there was no response until the speed dropped to 50mph at which point it would accelerate again. This was diagnosed by my local garage as a fuel pump and filter replacement which was carried out. On the test drive following this repair the engine management light came on and when rediagnosed suggested that the high pressure fuel pump now needed replacing. The first one cost £127 plus vat and the second has been quoted at £187 plus vat. Can anyone verify if this is the correct diagnosis as I have made a cursory search of the forum and there appears to be no suggestion of the existence of a second pump?? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated, many thanks
