Had my free lander serviced today got a clean bill of health but I do need a new clutch, quoted £340 is this about right? Don't think my mechanic is a rip off merchant but better to check!
 
Wow he did say it normally about 600 cos u need special tools for the job? , I nodded and said OK in all the right places. Just wanted to be sure he wasn't trying to bull**** me because I'm a clueless female :)
 
The TD4 has a Dual Mass Flywheel or DMF for short. It will only last the life of the clutch in most cases. This means it should be changed at the same time. If the quote was only £340 then that won't include the DMF. If you have a petrol Freelander you can ignore all references to DMF's as they don't have them.

Does the petrol have the slave cylinder inside the bellhousing , if so i would be replacing that also !
