Hi
Went to look at a 2000 freelander today that woz supposed to have a dodgy gearbox.
When I got there, I found that the gearbox woz not at fault, but there woz a grinding noise, that increased with speed.
Have heard that the diffs can be a prob on these models.
Can anybody give me an idea on what it could poss be.
Apologies if there is a listing similiar to this already, but could not see it, hence this one.

Thanks
Stuart

Have you put new tyres on the front ?

A grinding could be any number of things.Brake disc cover ,worn pads, wheel bearing or many other worn bits.

Hi
The noise seemed to be coming from the centre of the vehicle and just behind the front 2 seats approx.
Somebody did mention that it could be the diff, but have heard that there are other bits that are common to play up, thats why I asked.
