Because the Freelander is made from space age materials it is light, it will float long before the water gets anywhere near the engine intake :doh:.aint the air intake quite sensibly high in the injun baY AND TURNED OVER?
The " official " wading depths are pretty miserly for a discovery or Defender too!

Wading depth for a Defender, and everywhere else until the Discovery 3 is 20".
I make that only 4" more than the Freelander.
If wading in a Freelander, don't worry about the doors, but check the back brakes afterwards
