I've got the usual wet footwell on the drivers side of my D2. I've removed a section of carpet and found the cause but what I do about it is another matter. Its not the sunroof, the matrix or the windscreen surround or the door seals; its seeping through the bulkhead panels behind the accelerator next to the point where the loom passes through. It doesn't appear to be coming from the loom aperture itself because there is no rust around the rubber boot.
In theory water shouldn't be getting down there unless washing the engine bay but I reckon trying to find and fix any holes in the guttering or the tray below the windscreen (the drain holes are clear) is a lost cause. I've somehow got to make good the panels.
Have I really got to remove the brake servo and all that pipework and other gubbins to fix this from within the engine bay or is there a simpler way?

On Disco 2, body flexing and even cracking around the bonnet hinges on the bulkhead is a possible cause. This can be a very wet area with water draining off the bottom of the windscreen; any weakness or bare metal will soon perforate allowing lots of water through. Worth a check.

Will do. There are water marks running down from the door hinges and the various fasteners that fix through the pillar. I reckon I'll take the door off and refit all fasteners will thread lock and give both sides a dose of Waxoyl. But the vast majority of the water is coming through that rust hole in the bulk head.
Its going to have to be servo off and a proper repair. I could just patch it from inside but it would bug knowing there is bare metal on the other side going more and more orange by the day.
 
there is a drain hole in the bottom of the A post/ door hinges, this blocks up and water fills up until it comes in the car, have a poke around underneath behind the mudflap/ cill area
