I still reckon a merc ecotec engine in the 110. That way you'd have the 90 for speed and the 110 as a tow monster.

How about a duramax engine in it instead  that'd give some serious towing power!

Or a hercules engine out of a bus

I'm thinking insane and cheap on the second one there ;) and ffs why am I not tired

Been out considering immobiliser wiring and with some suitable rubber the pickup ring will sit on ignition barrel.

Will look at getting a key with chip in it

Have some diodes for mil and gearbox power switch.
Haven't time before show but have diode display for gear indication.

Either at the weekend or early part of next week- need to fit towbar and look at caravan repairs.

Also have my landyzone.co.uk stickers on and another that is appropriate.

well my efforts have been rewarded so far with

fuel sender telling lies
coolant pipe spring clip weak- developed water leak, jubilee clip sorted
transfer box decided to leak on gasket- got ****ed off with it- so instant gasket on it
fuel tank return cork gasket decided to leak- blue hylomar on cork until I can get a new one

found that toyota immobiliser won't fit a key blank for land rover/rover - key cutter reckons a keylight key with innards removed the best way.-at the moment the immobiliser chip is in a fob

new set of lights decided to blow stop tail light bulb

But for grins and shear fun it's worth it.

oh and poundland jumbo garden kneeling pads are handy for various gap filling etc

It needs a wash and crap cleared out of it and I'll get a few photos

will do,

at the moment the immobiliser chip is in a key light with bluetack to stop it rattling, the pickup coil seems to have no proximity issues so far. (poundland special)

glad you got it done!!!

another uz hits the road...
watched your vid....that aint half slow...sorry...but it is...

junk the ecu.go megasquirt and unlease some timing..and get a bloody SUPERCHARGER!!!!

(headers too...)

oh and dont be afraid to rev the tits off it...

It's on 1.22 transferbox and special tracks and lifted- the handling is twitchy, if I fit full throttle switch 1.6:1 transfer or smaller wheels it will fly.

Oh and if I junk the ecu then a world of expence on auto box and aftermarket ecu.

But I agree it isn't fastest as I haven't buried the throttle yet.

My insurance wouldn't cover supercharged and I'm on a budget at moment so cheap ideas please.

i run 1:1 box with lt85..30mph=1000rpm..and with lsds fitted,it can smoke all tyres at once..its also up in the air on 31's,but on air,so she drops at speed..

but you so need to ditch the stock ecu asap...it is tuned for economy..the differnce aftermarket made once tuned is unreal!also means you can set up seperate maps for lpg or economy and power etc.

have you dumped the lexus headers?they are rather crap..thats a cheap mod if you have not..make your own??

re twicthy handling...buy some corrected arms!!before anything else i would suggest!!

But I wish to keep auto- what about piggy back ecu on stock- no cats to worry about

A custom exhaust would be next consideration as stock headers, currently enjoying better fuel consumption than 3.5 carb rv8

For aftermarket ecu if not wanting megasquirt cos of cost..
Cant remember name but south afrrican make.google lexus ecu za
And see what comes up.they looked good for the money

Thinking about the lexus auto, did no away around.will try to remember

Just had a quick look and spittronics comes up as a possible.

Not possible... definate! The Spitronics ECU's are designed around the lexus 1uz and they will certainly have a setup bespoke to your needs if you're keeping the lexus trans.

As above the spitronics ECU's are easy to program, are able to keep multiple maps that can be changed quickly and they seem to come standard with the option of LAUNCH CONTROL...

My setup is slightly odd in that there are two ECU's one for fueling and one for coils (VVTI / manual trans). Your's would likely be a single unit, easier as you only have to log into one ECU to see all the goings on.

The Kit... £340 in total

You even save some weight...

Hope it helps!

yes..that was them!

i steared clear cos of lack of support and english answers when trying to talk to them, but was very tempted.
untill i discovered they can not switch between maps on the fly..ie one for economy one for drag strip..
went ms3x in the end ..which has ****e loads more functions..but at a cost..and by the way lauch control is fun!!

i trust you have/are going to uprate brakes??

They were helpful but yeah you will have to wait 3 days for a response to anything.

Strictly speaking that's true but you could for instance make an access panel in the dash to plug into? mine will be through the rear of the glove box allowing a mate with a laptop to tweak/switch maps whilst you're driving... No rolling road required!

What were the power gains after you fitted the ms3x ECU, can't find anyone really showing comparisons?

i trust you have/are going to uprate brakes??
The brakes have been fully renewed but not uprated.

Ohh and completely agree, Supercharge it!

re switching maps....holes in dash for mate to switch using laptop is just not on i am afraid....i run lpg.so when i switch over from fuel a to b in need maps to switch as well..and what a difference it makes!!on lpg on boost i can run 8 degrees more advance!..12 off boost..which equals same power as petrol and same economy..plus i can set up the lpg fuel maps to run at 16:1 or even 17:1 on cruise or 12;1 on max boost..all saving fuel or getting more power..

re mx3 ecu...essential for sequential injection on v8..sd card logging etc..

re support...there is no alternative to megasquirt..superb instant response from seller...and many forums ...all parts available next day if something goes tits up...no brainer really for MY use of ecu..others may find other ecu is perfect for their use..

re uprating brakes...110 calipers fit 90,rrc and disco.fit vented discs(ebc grooved or similar).trw racing pads or similar.not ebc, they dont work imho.
and then ..fit yanky hydroboost from chevy van etc...i can with these do a "stoppy" in mine

want to buy a gpz1100a1 unitak??

Brakes are a next on list of things to do, it is adequate at moment till I get keen
