Not sure. This is a full set of normal Disco rear lights so I think part of the clusters (the ones that would normally be vertical) have them. Easy enough to check. Is it an MOT requirement?

I looked at the light clusters and they seem to have a red reflective strip alongside the indicators. However, mine are positioned horizontally which means these strips are angled down towards the floor and may not reflect light coming in from headlights behind very well. So I've ordered a pair of small rectangular reflectors which I will attach to the rear extremities of the flat bed.

Just a little update. The new hydraulic ram I ordered for the step arrived today so I fitted the step. Quite pleased with how this has turned out. The action is very smooth. Looks like it could have been an option.

Nothing in the inspection manual about the reflectors exact angle etc. The lights you've got fitted are type approved so you'll be fine leaving them as they are.

Wow !! Just WOW !!

Been a while since I looked in and what a great catch up, your build has come out really nice

I absolutely love some of the solutions you came up with, all in all some really great work gone into this Maestro :)

Since the major refurb and MOT in February my D15KOE has just been (SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH) absolutely faultless and everything still working perfectly.
i've a lot of other stuff going on right now, but I guess my next update will be when I get around to fitting the Facelift Headlamps ;)

Good luck (not that you'll need it), but good luck with your MOT on Thursday ;)

Hey Dave, I was wondering where you'd gone. Welcome back and thanks for the positive comments. If you don't mind me asking, assuming you have already got facelift headlights, where did you source them and did you have to pay a ridiculous price?

Yes I have them, both completely intact except for one which has one broken plastic mount lug, but easy to fix with a small right angle bracket just like you did with yours. Lenses are good no nasty scratches, just need a light buff with toothpaste once I've fitted them, and then a good wax polish to stop the UV making them go yellow ;)

I watch EBay a lot and buy from breakers not privates ;)

I didn't pay that much, also bought the correct Wiring Plugs with long tails, I think, IIRC the whole lot was under / around £200 ;)

I've got the spare bulb holders to illuminate the yellow side reflectors too ;)

I've also already painted and clearcoated a pair of spare Hockey Sticks as they were never available in Rioja Red ....

Clickable :-

Hmm, quite overpaid for my replacement pair I think. Never mind, it's done now.

As for the brackets, with rivets and bonding they're as solid as a rock. Or were, the replacements were in excellent condition with all fixings intact. I'll keep the old pair as poor spares.

i saw a lot of very overpriced units on EBay (as always) ;)

I'll get them fitted when I finish some of my many other current non D15KOE projects :D

No pictures, just good news.

MOT passed today!!

Had my first "that's cool as feck" comment today while filling up at the MOT station too.

Woohoo! I'm pleased as punch.

Mind, as with all projects like this, it's never really going to be finished. Got loads more planned for it.

Good for you mate!!!
Have a pint on me!
:):):)

So, now it's had a proper drive there are a couple of small problems that need sorting:

1. Fuel gauge isn't working. Found that out after I filled up. Still showing empty with fuel light on.
2. Steering bar needs slight adjustment so the steering wheel sits straight. It's ever so slightly right hand down so I can't see the fuel gauge when going straight.
3. Wind noise from the top of the drivers door, A pillar. Goes away when I wind the window down slightly. Also goes away when I turn up the radio ;). The door rubbers aren't in the greatest condition but now I have spares from my daily so hopefully an easy fix for this one.

That was a break in the wiring loom from the pump on mine some where mid chassis, one of the small 2 wires (4 wires , 2 thick, 2 thin). Later the other thin wire went too and the amber light went out also. I spliced 2 new wires in near the filter at one end and under the front N/S inner wing where the loom enters the engine bay to fix nine.
