I have problems on my Defender 2004
My ABS (amber light) and Hand Break (red light) are sometimes flashing dimly at a speed relative to throttle level (ease back and it stops) some times it is stopped as I depress the clutch.
It is intermittent and seems to have started during the recent wet weather (puddles only not a plugger)

i'd be getting me head in the footwell and looking for any chafing or rubbing of the cables all around the pedal box and steering column, then the same in the engine bay

It's normally bad earths that cause this, try and find the earthing point local to that circuit and clean it up.

Many thanks guys for the tips, I am new to this defender and the fault has gone away just as quick as it came. I am and electrical engineer so I will be checking for chaffing as suggested.

Regards and thanks again

Steve
