2007 Freelander 2 ign key difficult to remove, non-starter & can't get it out of 'Park' to get it recovered to workshop. Tailgate sometimes won't unlock with keyfob, passenger door does the same. Frequently lock & alarm the car,,,,and find all the windows open in the morning?!!! Any ideas would be welcome TIA

have you put your foot on the brake that releases the gear stick

When you press start without putting yer foot on the brake, only the electrics will come on. Do you hear and feel a click on the transmission tunnel buy the gear lever? Mine is a later model and does it. I think yours should as well. If it doesn't then the solenoid/mechanism isn't releasing.

I found what you've mentioned on Youtube. I'm hoping to use that to move the car. I'm thinking it's the BCM that's throwing the other faults.
Tried all the usual methods to get it out of 'Park'....it's all the other faults that will need looking at - not sure if Lynx diagnostics will be up to it.
