Long time since I done one, but don't think replacement was a big job.
Few bolts, couple of screws and lots of scrivets !

Compliment or replace?
Well, should be a replace, but I just know I won’t get any money back for the F1 - despite it being in full running order throughout.
So, I think I’ll keep the F1 for what it is currently - fun and green lanes (I don’t mind the odd dink added to the patina on it), and use the F2 as an alternative driver for me or SWMBO, on the odd occasion we need to use 2 cars.

The F2 is my daily, the F1 is Mrs Grumpy's.

They're both great cars and I enjoy driving both of them.

In fact I enjoy the F1 more now I'm only driving it at weekends and days off. I'm off at the mo and driving it more, but if I just want a laid back cruise, I'll pick up the F2's keys.

Helps that the F2 is an auto and the F1 manual, different driving experiences in both car and setup.

The F2 I’m looking at is a manwell - I normally go auto only these days, but it has well known history and care ;)

Update on this - still no decision from the Insurance but repairer said they're going to quote £2,200 (£400 labour, £400 paint etc, £800 part and rest VAT) o can't see how they'll think a 2009 FL2 with 207,000 miles on the clock will be economically viable?

If they write it off ask to buy it back. Unless the impact was at speed and it has damaged the crash cans that looks an easy repair. Yours was stationary so no airbags to be concerned about.
To be Honest, that age and mileage it not worth much on the market.
That said I'd have it.

Thanks but alternator belt has now gone and she won’t start - I’ve posted another thread on it - possibly taken out the can belt too?
