they are rivnuts with a 10mm thread....
the holes they fit into are covered in painted over tape and you have to ream them out to the exact size!
if the nut & bolt shop have the tool for setting them you'd be wise to try and borrow one.
good luck fitting them, they are a piggin nightmare

ahhh ****e ! i hoped and thought they would be tap in rivet style nuts and then screw the bolts in ! obviously not buggger ..
any advice where to buy the tool ? is it simply a matter of scraping off the paint/slight ammount of metal then hammering the rivet nutus into the holes ?
anyone else fitted there own? have a tool i could borrow or advice on hammering.

it mite help if yu change ya UserCP to show wher yu are based.
I havent tried it, but I am lead to believe that yu can fit the rivnuts by inserting a bolt and then tightening it up - that allows the nut to compress into position.

updated Usercp im in Farnham, ok.. so do i try to insert, or do i hammer/insert the rivetnuts into said holes , then when i tighten bolts this will expand them and make it a snug tight fit ?
any advice or help appreciated..

pop round one nite next week and I will show yu my tool - it only goes up to 8mm tho - so it aint of any use to ya - but it will show yu how it is meant to work.

The thread size is 6mm not 10mm, 10mm is the spanner size.
They're not a nightmare to fit but you do need the proper tool, i've tried in the past to fit them with a bolt, nut and metal plate but they just turn in the hole.

thanks again for the offer , i ended up buying said tool, rivnut tool, under freelander, fitted nutserts in a about half hour, then steps on, and locktighted the bolts in place, alls well, looks the piece now, thanks again
now need to sell tool usefull as it is i wont use it again lol..
so if anyones interested in a quality nutsert tool, easy to use with swivel head drop me a line.
