Well, looking at the state of my steering wheel, i was thinking of buying one with wood, leather and the stereo buttons on it. My P38 has a normal plastic SW with no stereo buttons. Im not worried about fitting the wires to the stereo, my concern is what i need to put teh cables through the steering column into the wheel.

¿does the SW have its own wires, a plug or what?
¿how do I wire so that i can turn without any problem?

If people dont want the hassle of explaining, all i need to know is what material i need and if its been done before.
