how can this be so difficult?
I bought a pair of Britpart front mud flaps for my missus’s 90
They are mounted using two threaded holes in the front outriggers, but no fixing bolts came with the mud flaps.
Nothing l tried fitted, l took a bolt off the front mud flap on my 110 but it wouldn’t screw in to the thread.
In fact trying to screw it in broke the captive nut free, fortunately l was able to get a pair of pliers inside and grip the captive nut to free the bolt.
So that was 45 minutes of messing about and the mud flaps are still in the garage.
So then l tried to fit the new folding side steps, only to find that there’s a bar attached from the side step to the chassis that needs a special tool to inset a captive nut.
(being an XS it’s clearly only ever had tubular side steps, but they were missing)
So they went back in the garage as well.
At least the kettle worked and l got a cup of tea off the missus.
