Planning to fit a Rover 4.0 V8 out of a P38, into a 110 Defender

I can make the mechanical side of things work but the challenge ahead will be the electronics.

I have the ECU & Mass Air Flow Sensor etc.

has anyone attempted this before?

If you have, have you got any clues?

Cheers

youre prolly gonna be struggling with the original stuff but if money allows you'll be better with one of the generic ecu's that are used on kit cars and the like

if you want to go the land rover route you will need the front end cover, sump off a earlier v8 for the dissy and a 14cux hotwire injection system which will give you a plug and play set up unless you want to fiddle with megasquirt

I have got it sorted now.

Engine going in on Monday, with quite a bit of modification required.

Just waiting for the new ECU to come from MegaSquirt.

Then a good set up and were away.....

***** Hopefully *****

I got it running on the mega-squirt system, works a treat and i would definitely recommend it to anyone who is thinking of going down that route.

A little on the complicated side but once you have got your head around it its not too bad.

wonder how the magasquirt performs against the oem ecu, wonder if theres a way to put megasquirt on a p38 if it out performs the oem ecu????

how much did it cost?

Hi

well on the DYNO its 182 BHP at the rear wheels with front prop off

13.8 bhp loss with each axle on my 110.

cost was roughly £330

Cheers
