I'm pretty sure you could drive straight over that

Hmm bollards? .... should have got one of these

You'd be fairly sure of the landy going nowhere

Impressive crash test with 7.5T truck at 80Kmh

and how do you know that?
have you got one..??

i say fair play to lf..atleast hes trying to do summit to slow down/or prevent the scroats from nicking his motor..

I actually did have one similar to that except it was yellow but not anymore.
I think people just see it and think "I can't be bothered" then go to the next street and steal their's instead. You could put a cardboard box there painted silver and it would work. It just needs to look like it would slow them down.

the pikeys nicked the one near me within a week of it going up.:p:p:p

To be honest, im sure that the post would eventually fail if it was repeatedly rammed. But together with my disklock, clutch claw and immobiliser, its better than nowt.

If the thieves move on to someone elses car instead, then its served it purpose. Only time will tell.

But digging the hole by hand was quite an achievement, 1250mm deep through solid clay. Once the hole was dug it was amazing how many neighbours appeared to have a look down it. A deep hole draws folk to peer over the edge.

Im gunna dig another hole nearby, to deposit all the clay Ive dug up:D

I'd back up a bit and drive through that wall. But if it makes them think twice your half way there. Thiefing gits!

What if they come with a hiab?? :D:D:D

Hence why I said in my first post that Ive seen a ground anchor that Im going to buy, but mostly for when the Landy is going to be left a few days (holidays etc).

And if they break into the house to steal the keys, I have the ultimate security device awaiting them....

...The wife!:D

She even frightens me when I wake up in the middle of the night and catch a glimpse of her:eek:

I put in a security post earlier this year during which my landy had been visited three times in the early hours. Initially had a fold down type, which was enough to stop them towing the landy off the drive (which is what they were trying to do). But after the third visit upgraded the security completely. Installed similar telescopic post, ground anchor & decent wrought iron gates. The gates don't really stop the landy getting out, more stopping thieves from getting in. Since doing all this I've not had any more visits, but still keep vigilent all the same...
A lot of landies have disappeared near where I live, and the ones left have become an endangered species.

To complete the set, as well as the ground anchor, I'd be tempted to put some decent lockable gates on, and extend the height of your fence/wall to stop em getting on to your drive.

All these bits individually can ultimately be defeated, but you have to do something, and the sum total makes it more likely they'll go somewhere else, as it's too much work and not worth the risk.

Nice to hear your winning the battle, Mikey.

Good advice given also, thanks:)

Heres the anchor im going to order, along with their 19mm chain and Squire padlock.

Not cheap, but should do the job. Where do you anchor yours from Mikey, axle or chassis?
