I paid pittance for mine and saw a higher mileage go for £2,100 last week

P38 seem to be creeping up but be wary. Knowing what I know now I would be a lot more choosy as though they dont rust there is a lot of work to them but when running properly I think there the best car ever.

I dont like the idea of LPG in mine a 4.0 v8 why would have a range rover and worry about petrol stupid idea. Get a diesel if daily costs are a pain. I suck up the £10 a day I use but I wouldnt save much from a 2l to be honest.

However get a low mileage thats key and if you are patient you can pick up a private with 60 to 100k on the clock which as the boys have said is mustard

I have wheeled and dealed but then I got a p38 and stopped I may start again but keeping my P38 regardless

It's a game of luck - the youngest P38s are now 13 years old - even an apparently mint well looked after one could have every problem in the book.

I paid 1500 for my 2000 DSE last year with 89k on the clock off the second owner who had it 10 years, it had the normal problems that with the help of the guys and info on here i sorted most of them now, the main one on mine woz a few water leaks but all sorted and she has dryed out now but must say every time it rains i have to check it aint sprung a leak. :D:D

I have just bought a 96 2.5 DSE with 190k on the clock with a history folder like a telephone directory. It drives like a new car and tramps on nicely due to a chip upgrade. Everything works as it should and it sits on 4 new airbags. The princely some of £995. :D

I paid £3500 for my 2000 Vogue just over 3yrs ago, have spent about £1500 on parts/repairs in that time, would I have spent the same if I had paid £6000 it? probably!

I bought mine last Spring for £2650 if I recall correctly. It was one local doctor owner from new,fsh all supplying main dealer.Total spent on main dealer servicing was £23,000.It came with a new mot,12months tax and freshly serviced again at main dealer.Condition wise it still looks fresh . So far my costs on this car are zero( other than buying a ctek charger as its not used daily). I am really impressed and I love the thing, total bargain .
