Hi,
Just picked up my P38 '99 4.6 HSE. Its suppose to be an Autobiography but no plate in the engine, a guy at LR said the very early ones didnt have them... I'm thinking BS. Anyway even if its not it seems to have quality wood inside. The badge on the back is not the flat sticker, everything colour matching . I'll get some pics up over the weekend.
The engine is very smooth, cannot hear any worrying sounds during gear changes all ultra quiet and smooth and the air suspension seems to be great, cant hear a thing but it moves up and down when ever the ride needs to be adjusted.
I have found a number of issues (surprise surprise) but all cosmetic and inside the cabbin so not affecting the actual running.
This thread I would like some advice on 2 points please.
1. In an attempt to replace the bulb in the rotary knob on the hevac unit I eeeerrr ummmm errr pulled a little too hard and broke the 2 lugs off the back of the knob. It sits back on ok (with new bulb) but is too loose. Does anybody know where I can get a replacement rotary knob? I need to break the hevac unit out to replace a further bulb, should I just super glue the ends back on, if I find them in the unit.
2. Whilst out showing of my new toy to friends with lots of ooooohs and arrrrrs the sunroof decided not to close once full retracted. I manually closed it with the qtr turn back but still no luck the switch wouldnt budge it, although I can hear the motor whirring when trying to open only but not close. I am thinking its the switch pack that is the problem as it worked fine earlier today no problem, but the passenger front window and same side rear window works when ever the mood takes it, one minute it works the next it doesnt. However the rear passenger window works sweet using the rear door switch. Should I look at cleaning the switches first in the switch pack? Any other ideas?
More to come, but this and fixing the heated seats are this weekends tasks.
Ahhhhhh still loving the RR feeling after 24hrs
Thanks for any help offered.
