Any one know the size of the star drive / torx plug on the side of my R380 gearbox please.
I need to refill with oil and I think that is the level plug.
I'm going to use Dextron or ATF or something, the oil that came out was filthy black crap.

thank you:)

If I cant borrow something then I'll take a chisel to it tomorrow....or weld a big nut to it and undo it that way.

I got some big torx bits in an impact driver set ,including the one needed-the set is1/2" drive,so you can put breaker bar on-comes undone then

Did you make the cardinal error and drain off the oil before loosening the fill/level plug? OOPS!!

Yup, done that...

Bought a T55 half inch drive socket for three pound odd locally so that did the trick. Thing is, I'm sure the one I cant find that fits Pug heads is the same size, it's in a tool box somewhere.

Any way, all oils drained out now ready for new stuff, I've got ATF for the R380 gearbox and EP90 for the transfer box on the shelf so unless I hear otherwise then that's what is going in.

Hope I got the belt on the right way, dont seen to go any other way.:)

ATF dexron 11 and EP90 is whats in mine and what I put in a mates just this morning

atf is fine they only put in mtf to extend service intervals i would rather use dextron 2 atf and change every year or 10000 miles ,as its alright having syntehtic long life oil but you also need to drain crap out else you be running highly lubricative grinding fluid
