got my disco back on friday, torque converter done, all fine... tonight, mrs just going out in it to feed her horse, stuck in 1st, floppy gearshift. turns out, the 'bracket' which holds the selector cable is chewed so its come out. managed to bodge it for now with some thick wire to hold it in but cant get into park. ok as a temporary fix as it starts in neutral. anyone had this issue and fixed it securely? typical it didnt happen friday or saturday morning when the garage is open!!:mad::mad:

how is it chewed has the clip disappeared
well there's a sort of gap it fits into, the bracket is like metal on either side with rubber sandwiched between. i got it back in place but when you select gears it pops straight back out of the slot. should there be a clip?

swapped the clips today. sounds easy doesn't it? well it wasn't. the bracket was bent and buckled so the clip wouldn't fit on. after about 2 hours of fighting with it, lots of swearing and re-shaping the bracket, i did it. not a job i should have to be doing after paying good money to have it repaired!!

Not having much luck with that mate!
We picked the new td5 up today weighing up if its worth replacing the ACE pipe that's split or just bypass the whole system?

well hopefully its ok now. i have to say the ACE system is very good. my D2 corners way better than my wife's zafira. the D2 feels steady and safe at a speed the zafira feels like its going to roll over!
