Of course... you can't really beat a couple of these fried in butter for breakfast.

Need to learn to tie flies first though

Oh my Gods! Now that is gross! Sorry but I couldn't eat that even if I wasn't a veggie.

My Dad eats sprats fried in batter, I cooked em for him once, but I took the heads and tails off 1st. There wasn't much left after that so he got mostly batter...............he never asked me to cook them again thou, so it wasn't all bad. :D

Hey Adz, that recipe sounds similar to one I used last Christmas for a terrine. Didn't have the pork in it though, used confit de canard instead and a bit of brandy. ;)

They are very good! My Good friend Slob will love them, he likes smilie faces and things like LOL!

I can't access many things from this computer so I probably wont be able to use them :(

Confit and chicken liver eh? Sounds good, I've got a tin of confit in the cupboard, I'll have to give it a go!

Never tried adding booze to it - although a mate who's a chef recommends it, as well as adding about 1/4 pork liver to 3/4 chicken liver.

The 50/50 pork belly to chicken liver ration is pretty standard stuff for a terrine I guess, it's more about what other flavours you add.

Cheers,

Ahh - but being veggie you'll never know what you're missing.

For the record though, whole sprats in batter compared to "so fresh it's still twitching", properly cleaned in running stream water brown trout, fried in butter with horse mushrooms and sweet chestnuts with a little water cress and dandelion salad, cooked by the bank side and all washed down with a nice peaty Islay at 9am - chalk and cheese is a very poor simile by comparison ;)

Cheers,

terrine------------a cross between a terrier and a porcupine. Not to be messed with!!!!!!!!!!!!!
