There's a mobile mechanic who does blends etc at your own premises, may be worth getting a quote from him. He did mine last year - all three were done within around 2 hours or so and the aircon is back to good working order, he also includes 3 brand new blends in the price and warranties the work for a year. Cost £380 I think and that included the three new blends, which cost about £200 from a stealer. Worth enquiring anyway, and he may be able to organise the lock at the same time. His name is Jason, number 07903077948.

???
I dont know what any of this means?

I have just offered the dealer £3000 for it so I'll wait to see what the outcome is.

Is it just me or does that still seem expensive for a 96 even with everything working? I know it's low mileage, but still. I hope it comes with a good warranty!

The problem with the blend motors is that they've usually broken for a reason - ie the flaps are jamming. Just replacing the motors isn't necessarily a long term solution...

Apparently, the main culprit is the air distribution flap which is slightly too large for the heater box (the legendary LR quality control) and regularly jams especially in cold temperatures. There is a bodge out there to help stop this, but I haven't got round to trying it yet.
