Had a small plate welded over the hole tonight and then covered in seam sealant. SORTED! Off to get the MOT certificate tomorrow! :cool:
 
I should add that my mate wanted to write cnut in weld on the steel plate, but I said let me get the certificate first! :D :D
 
It was the rust that resulted in the hole that was a issue, u could have holes in the bulk head a lot nearer to the servo/ master cylinder, the throttle cable passes through one of them on V8s .

it was suggested to make the hole round and stick a grommit in it:eek:
 
YES! She passed. :D

Fair point Discool. At least on a TD5 there is no throttle cable - drive by wire. Mind you I sometimes wish it was more mechanical! ;)
