I paid £70 for mine in January and this one is only £30 the other one is only £25 surly you can get the right one with only a Fivers difference??

Hey, I'm trying to replace my exhaust box for my TD4. Do you know if I could get one that fits a Freelander 1.8 petrol?

They actually have a different price tag for some reason, but they look the same:

TD4 and k series exhausts are different parts, hence the difference in price.

From experience, cheap Ebay exhaust components last almost no time at all.
I'd only use quality replacements, or a stainless steel version.

Was thinking to paint on it and therefore slow down rusting process, at least from the outside. I have some arc rite paints that apparently withstand high temps.

Actually... Has anyone tried this?
Looks cool and simple. Less weight and heard many people recommending cutting out the box completely.

Will it affect MOT?

I can't see that box fitting very well.

I've got a smaller stainless back box fitted to mine. It passes MOTs just fine.

The Muddy Mods back box is a good way to improve performance and add stainless steel at the same time.

the v6 box will fit just fine and actually better as it has twin tail pipes and lets the fumes out quicker and is also the original box for the td4

That's unlikely. The twin pipes of the V6 box are half size of the pipe on the TD4 box. Both the boxes are very restrictive, so there's nothing to gain by using the V6 box, and it costs more than the standard TD4 box.

Good morning Nodge, I’m thinking of treating the bitch ( my FL1 TD 4 ) to one of the Muddy Mods stainless steel back boxes. Is it just a straight swap without any hassle? Regards.

Anyone actually fitted the muddy mods exhaust?

Or just straight piped the backbox? Wondering how the td4 might sound??

My L Series sounds freeking awesome. Well, actually, it sounds like a tractor - but the other day I was coming back from town, it was a sunny day so had windows open and out of rush hour so just happily cruising along and came to a set of traffic lights. As I came to a standstill I expected to hear that agricultural background noise - but I didn't - it did sound freeking awesome! A beautiful burbling sound - it was wonderful :D

Looked in my mirrors and a Jensen Interceptor had pulled up behind me :D:D:D:D
