Not sure what people are doing for power supplies but thought i'd share after seeing a post about a TLC 13.8V supply (think it was about £40 for 30amps - actually found the link https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/SK650762.html i went about finding similar ones. Anyways, tons on Amazon rated as (fixed) 12V to power LEDs etc. I got a 480W (so theoretically 40A @ 12V) 'warehouse' return for £10 and have tested the rheostat and it seems to hold a pretty steady 13.8V no load. Not sure of the current at that voltage yet or how it will do under long term load, but will test and let you know.View attachment 329081
It would be interesting to see a scope trace of the voltage under load to see how stable it is, or if is noisy/"chopped". If clean would be a cheap solution

It's a bargain-basement switched mode power supply, how clean do you suppose it'll be? however, it won't matter too much as the starter battery is effectively a big smoothing capacitor.
Depending upon the model you intend to connect it to, 34A @13.8VDC may not be enough - remember that SDD will reject anything below 12.51VDC 'at the module' so you need to take account of volt drop along the harness, corroding ground connections etc. - which is why battery support units are rated at 13.8VDC output.

'An Error Has Occurred' when configuring a module - existing or new.
The interface is a genuine VCI and I'm using the v165 VM
This also happened with the v164 installed directly on Win7 x64 but I assumed it was either the Mongoose clone (used on the 13MY) or my installation causing the error. This is happening on a 16MY vehicle but it also happened with a 13MY vehicle....
Has anyone experience similar and found a workaround? When this happened at the dealership it was usually a sign the laptop needed rebooting and/or there were windows updates halfway through installing...
I've tried restarting the VM, updating the VCI, increasing the memory allocation to the VM - still the same.

used JLR 165 pro today, i added another smart key and it works perfect' just getting to grips with it, i have a problem with the reversing sensors not working and park assist, and reverse cam ,so fitted a matching " PAM" park assist module learned it in but hasn't solved my issue so will have to have a look elsewhere, any info to assist would be great. seem to have lost the camera on screen and the sound on the system
thanks in advance

Hi the issue is with backdate, needs reinstalling and no back date I will have to update vms which will be this week at some point.
Disable the clock reset date, reinstall sdd 165 and will go away.

sounds like a ccf sync issue somewhere.

Thanks - so to be clear, reinstall with the current date and make sure the VM date is set to not sync with the host PC?
