Any ideas why i get error codes for things that aren't broken?
Drivers for central locking motor
Lost Comms with parking brake module
Speaker 1 circuit
Speaker 2 circuit
Invalid data received from speed control module

All door locks always work
Parking brake always works
Never had an audio problem
Wtf is a speed control module, my foot!? The Speedo always works and show the right side within the usual margin of error

That's a very old version now!!
I know but I was reading this forum and read that version has the most functionality and read somewhere else that version may work best with my 2007 Freelander. I am happy to use V160 if it can read Haldex computer and tell me which one of my Parking sensors is furbar

Hi
Excellent thread - very much appreciate all the valuable information 👍👍

Has anyone had any luck reprogramming the door auto lock function on Freelander 2 2008 HSE? it's as annoying as heck!

It's been to a number of land rover independents and they say the auto lock is switched off. main JLR dealer said it would cost me £80+ just to look at my car and it was most likely too old for their software to recognise it... (talk about age shaming... 😢).

I've just ordered a mongoose and will look to down load the software etc. @PRO and @Nodge68 I may need to reach out to you for support, as your posts were very much what I'm interested in. Really interested in getting the battery voltage on the display as that's a constant problem...

thanks

Gentlemen, very good work from all, specially for Nodge for starting this interesting thread and PRO for many actions and support of different kind of questions.

One question about the vxdiag, is somebody using version for “multibrand interface” https://www.obdiitool.co.uk/wholesale/vxdiag-vcx-nano-pro-upgrade-version.html ?

We have Audi, Volvo and Evoque under same roof and it’s good to have tool for all of those. Now I have some Ford based tool Volvo and Evoque + Delphi, those work fine but “new toys” might be interesting also …

Hi All

I used first time SDD v164 on a VM for my LR4 with vxdiag nano. I can connect and read all the information. I cleared all the previous errors and no new errors coming so far.

I was hoping to use/see CCF and got the passcode for it using VIN and Seed from a website. but seems like my BCM is not responding. As per the diagram below, the configuration source is PCM and not BCM. and when I go to CCF editor, everything is grayed out.

No errors are there for BCM etc and have done some R&D as well but unable to find a answer/solution.

Any assistance would be really appreciated. and TIA

I have been reading something about the SDD, could it be so that there is a backup of PCM in BCM and thus one cannot write configuration to BCM “manually” - but this is just a guess, not any experience or knowledge

In my understanding and working on other cars as well. BCM is usually the module that will hold the configuration and any changes are written to it.
In LR4 case, PCM also hold the configuration but its read only. Somehow SDD cannot read/detect/make it primary and read from BCM so then I can see and edit values in CCF and write them.

Just to say, thank you so much for this excellent thread, especially to @Nodge68 and @PRO!
I think that you helped so many people with this thread!

Two days ago I bought Mongoose PRO clone and now learning about JLR SDD, I read entire this topic and feel pretty comfortable to start playing with my car's software, thanks to data and information shared here (though I do not plan programing anything for now, at least until I learn little more and find some power supply for this purposes)!

Btw, it's Jaguar XE MY2016 here, will share if I find anything useful (though I first need to setup one Win7 machine).

Thank you one more time!

hi,

great thread indeed - thanks to all involved :)

question on sdd on and off line - i got v 164.347 and it works, but in off line mode. i'm in need of updating icm (incontrol touch pro), but when trying to attempt it, whole sdd crashes - been told update can't be done off line, hence it crash as sdd is in off line mode (makes sense).

i read here about 80g for downloading all the flies - does it include all the update files for all modules? i got it for patfinder (and i can update modules having laptop off line), so assuming it would be the same for sdd (?)

Does anyone have a link to the 'blue patch'? it doesn't seem to be in the iso image linked to earlier in the thread.
Thanks.

Unforutnately, errors still persist on a physical win7 laptop with the 164 build posted. Cannot program keys, CCF editing completes the writing routine but errors out trying to exit routine towards the end (reading routine?), height calibration errors on exiting routine, there's probably more but that's what I am seeing so far.

ccf routine stops at
sa_azcs_backup_01 legacy setup application returned false
It turns out that my mongoose clone would not pick up other bus lanes and likely throwing errors back to SDD. I bought a VCX nano and all bus are scannable. I have not done any reprogramming thus far. I plan do do this very soon to confirm

My mongoose clone on aliexpress was a failure point

I have to agree with the above excellent thread, read through it all, so will look into getting SDD etc any good upto date links of best place to get the required tool etc please cheers Arctic.

tried to read the CCF from the car, but it failed;

All sources of data have been deemed invalid. alternative car configuration source must be located to place the vehicle configuration data into a valid state.

It then asks me to choose another source, but that doesnt work either.

is likely a comms issue using a dodgy cable, or a car issue? software is 164 and i'm able to read/clear all codes, see live data etc so something is working

Great thread and very helpful. I downloaded the 163 and 164 ISO and I could not find the blue patch. Is there any place to find this as it no longer seems to be in the iso files. Thanks.

Great thread, many thanks to @Nodge68 for starting it, @PRO for the vm downloads and software wisdom etc, and to everyone else who has contributed, this is a really great resource.

I've ordered a cheap Mongoose cable from AliExpress which should be here next week but I'm now wondering if I should have gone for a VCX Nano instead. I'll give it a try and see what shakes out but it seems like the Mongoose cables are a bit hit and miss as to whether they work fully, are people having better results with the VXDiag?
