If you have any laptop this will work with just the cable.

The laptop I have is Windows 10, from what I've read, SDD doesn't like 64bit?
Can you guide me on where is good (and relatively safe) to get the software and leads that will work with Win10 if that can be made to work? Cheers

Just a few posts back I have made available the virtual machine files with software ready to go (in a VM)
Nodge68 privided the link of the cable earlier, I've purchased it days ago and have it in my glovebox now. I've spent a few hours getting it sorted to work on modern laptops such as mine (Lenovo t490) specifically for this reason of not willing to run windows 7 or dedicate/purchase/keep a laptop separate for it.
If you need help setting it up pm me and I can do it remotely with team viewer for you will take a few minutes at most.

I'd buy the Gap Diagnostics IID BT for a D3, as it's fully featured, and easier to use than SDD. It'll also alter the vehicle programming to none standard configurations, that SDD can do.
SDD is not that bad once you play with it. The GAP unfortunately costs about 500 and if something does not match/work then it's going to be a sad purchase.
I need to program a key now but I need to be confident I am not erasing the only key I actually have. Too many warnings when I do that, need to investigate.

It's expensive, but it does do loads of stuff on the D3 which adds to the appeal and usefulness of the early models. Like it'll add 3 flash indicators, and put the clock on the dash, which is a feature I'd like on my FL2, but unfortunately the IID doesn't do that on the FL2, as it's not so well featured.
If you can find a way to improve the Ipack, then that would be cool. There's a Russian guy who added loads of extra screens to his FL2 Ipack, things like instantaneous MPG, battery voltage and a few others, which has done by using SDD to add extra files to the Ipack firmware.

Mine were wrong too, but was easily corrected with SDD.
Which module are you referring too? I changed my ECM, as my original had been badly prised open, so I replaced it with a second hand one from ebay.
There was an option in SDD to replace or update modules, I'm sure I used the replaced module option. It wasn't difficult to do, as I managed ok.
