not heard of this, who is 'pushing' conversions of classic cars?
Perhaps my phrasing is wrong.

There are a lot more companies now offering conversions for classics from traditional ICE to EV and quite a lot of people are keen on the idea.

I might do it on a car that would otherwise have to be scrapped..... or have a some other type of engine dropped in it (Toyota and Nissan are the usual donors out here) but to take a perfectly functioning car and convert it just for the sake of doing so is killing whatever classic or collectible value the car may have.

But maybe that's just me. Certainly I wouldn't value a car nearly as much if it had had an engine from a completely different manufacturer transplanted in it and I'm too old now to change my mind just because the transplanted engine happens to be electric.

gotcha
that front battery box looks like a deathtrap!! wouldnt fancy a front end crash :(
yeah - that's how he received the car - someone else had started doing a conversion.

In a later video you can see how it's changed. I'm quite liking the idea.

i still think autogas/lpg is the way forward in the short/medium term.. the only reason its not being pushed is tax

I think some sort of hybrid Is the way ,Self charging ,That way you could still tow ,at a lower tonnage .Don't know how far you would get towing a caravan ect ,i like the though of hydrogen fuel cells ,apparently you could run your house plugged into the car power cell ;)..

Would be good to see if the owner does the remaining stuff like sorting the tunnel & getting the EAS to the correct height. Plus maybe seeing if it actually gets through an MOT in the end !! Presumably it will require special vehicles MOT.

I was interested in this and I did email him..

Didn't get a reply..

Mind you being that it has an old battery pack out of a nissan leaf I imagine it can't go very far

Quite a few Rich people, lol if you can find a conversion for below 40k i'd be surprised.

Lunaz is going to start doing RRC conversions for a cool £250k

Think ECC (vintage voltage on tv) recon 40k as a starting point for a small car like karman ghia / speedster / midget, although that is all new Tesla type stuff fitted
