Welcome to the madhouse Steve.

How's the new purchase?

Thanks again for your help the other night chap a true gent wife been driving it lol. Allready done a oil change and fuel filter jet washed the bay lol cleaned out sedimenter filter unit that was gunked up..:jaw:

Thanks chap for welcome :D

Yes welcome Steve :)

And thank you Brian, I'm now 2" taller and don't look like a hot rod! (What a nightmare that was - I will let Brian tell tell how he had to angle grind thru a shock absorber! And how much of a wimp I am about getting nuts off from awkward places! Make me wonder how land rover actually fitted some of these awkward bolts!

Chris, what happened to the CB you brought off me? That was a good un! Had been tweaked to transmit on all the HAM frequencies!

See you in morning Brian! U better be up & dressed - I don't want you answering the door naked again!

Got myself a nice list for the weekend:

Drill headlight
Febrease carpets
Change seats
Wd-40 starter motor
Replace snorkel pipe work
Fit cb radio and external speaker
Fit splitter
Fit extended breathers
Buy breather hose and manifold
Change exhaust manifold gasket

Anyone wants to come help feel free. I'll make sure I have plenty of tea bags!

Also getting in a ice covered Defender at 5.30 in the morning is not what I'd call pleasant.
I want my Disco back lol

I know that feeling, who ever said 'sack the disco, get a defender' needs shooting! I had heated leather, working heaters, carpets, sound deadening, electric windows even roof lining!

What don't hurt will make you stronger.;) Or make your arthritis worse :p

Nah just haven't found anything that the Defender does that the Disco couldn't but can think of plenty of thing the Disco was better at

Probably why I'll stick with discos.

The thing is the 110 has something about the look.

It looks like it is built to drive round the world accross any terrain.

I suppose that's why I keep my disco dirty, so it looks like it might go half way round the world.

What I keep telling myself is the 90 will hold value better than the disco... I must admit as well it doesn't feel as laboured as the disco when off roading but that's about it...

I have managed to get mine home today finally after doing the starter, alternator, upgrading washers, swival bearing, cross member, tie down points, boost gauge, oil gauge, heated seats, door seals and the gearbox oil leak... Well, I thought I got the oil leak but its still going, think its the rear seal, gonna leave it though as planning to fit my R380 after christmas, will just have to keep the oil level topped up...

So, Wales... Think I'm ready...

That's a 90, 110's arn't worth much hence why I could afford one.
Might just fix it up and flog it, really can't be arsed with the hassle.

They still hold thier value tho, discos are worth squat now days, I would be tempted to tart it up and make a bit of cash, think I would prefer the 100 inch disco over a 110 really tho, ohhh co fort, squishy seats, HEATERS!!!

I've no doubt I made the right choice ;) but if I'd got a Disco first who knows.

Once you get rid of all the clunks, bangs, leaks and everything else you will start to love em guys trust me, there's been many a time when I've felt like selling the 90, was a right old ****er when I first got it, now I've replaced every bit of running gear and everything I've put on it I always have a grin when driving it, like I said once you get em up to scratch you will love em;)

Also they look cool

Thank you to Brian finishing off one of my arches today & helping me with my decat pipe (just hold this spanner Guy while I put an air gun on the end - like ****! I like my fingers thank u!) - half my breather kit finished (spent half hour looking for the gearbox breather! Just to find it right next to the transfer box breather - atleast I think it is! - just the front axle to do & then run it up thru the snorke (why?? Cos the donkey that had it before me ran the cb aerial down thru it) ... We ran out of time & it started raining, so that will be finished another day! - thanks again Brian xx
