Oh Mad Hat you are a misery ;-). I know the lane and all the ones around me very well, as I said, I just went for a look and as I tried to turn around to go home, I just slid. It would've happened to any of us it was that bad out there. But, you're right, I don't go proper laning alone. I'm not a complete numpty (contrary to popular belief) Anyway. It's nice to know that you guys are there and I have to admit, it was good fun. Thanks again Brian and Andy.

Ive got a Mud Dash to go in mine, but ill be buying/making one of these:

They are nice but pricey... I did look at one but I cant really see the benifit for £200, you dont even get your stereo up there...

You can do if you extend the wires which i will be doing. Id rather all those up there and 2nd fused up there incase, like in the almost death of Tiny, (may she rest in peace now) where the stereo was pretty much submerged....

It might be a better idea if he was to seal up his snorkel, that way he don't have to stop in the of the river

Well I have had a productive week, fitted the new starter (twice as the first one didnt work ), new alternator, new clutch slave cylinder, heavy duty steering rods and my favorite part, heated seats :D

Just got to do the gearbox oil leak, refit the exhaust correctly and adjust my bearings and I'm ready for wales at last! Oh yeah, im gonna test my snorkle as well after chris's last adventure, got me all paranoid now...

Yeah I suppose but still, if I got water inside up to the dash the stereo is the least of my concerns

How happy am I right now, I have been fretting about getting to an oil leak on the gearbox all week, have saved it till last thinking its going to be a nightmare and it turns out its the selector gasket on top, 4 bolts and its fixed... think I am ready for wales now, just got to do the last few checks, top up oils and im ready I believe...

Welcome to the madhouse Steve.

How's the new purchase?

Yes welcome Steve :)

And thank you Brian, I'm now 2" taller and don't look like a hot rod! (What a nightmare that was - I will let Brian tell tell how he had to angle grind thru a shock absorber! And how much of a wimp I am about getting nuts off from awkward places! Make me wonder how land rover actually fitted some of these awkward bolts!

Chris, what happened to the CB you brought off me? That was a good un! Had been tweaked to transmit on all the HAM frequencies!

See you in morning Brian! U better be up & dressed - I don't want you answering the door naked again!
