So are there any Disco's bits people of here are after from my truck?
Sure you all have a good idea of the spec.
Gonna take a few bits and bobs for the 3 door (tailgate, glovebox, scooby seats) but everything else will be up for sale including the winch, wheels, engine, box and my expensive rear suspension setup.

Would rather give first dibs to you lot before it goes to the masses and the time wasters from eBay. Reckon I'll start breaking it next month before the tax is out.
What set up have you got on the front ?

Well I have manged to get Memory Map going on my iPad, it seems pretty easy to use as well, bit clunky compared to using it on the PC but I can make routes and the GPS seems to be pretty good on it, will give it a run on my drive home to see how accurate but it seems OK. I might have a go at planning a little route around the chelmsford area at some point in the near future if anyones up for it, this is after I have rebuilt me disco though so a few weeks yet!!

It would be really handy if someone could tell me where the lanes are around chelmsford as im new to this and i just want go check out some lanes not go down them as such just so i know where they are and am not going to look like a total pillock when i do go on my first laning session. Could anyone send me some points of location on a google map or something would be a massive help

Sorry if it came across like that Mr Freelander but i am new to this and on a "Map" i am not totally clear on what im looking for etc. I have maps etc and didnt think any were about writtle but was told there are so once i know what im looking for i will be able to find myself etc. Sorry if i came across lazy but am far from it. Was more of a "I will learn what to look for on a map" Then i cant be ****ed to look myself!

a lot of peeps post for that very reason and it wears a bit thin after a bit.

good lanes can be hard to find, i'm sure you know this, so peeps don't just give out the info to just anyone.

this is not because they're are being funny, it's because they don't want the lanes being used irresponsibley.

go on the OS website and take a look at what to look for, BOAT's etc...
then go and walk them to see if they are ok to drive, if in doubt ask ;)

Cheers, it's an old one, I keep meaning to re-write it as there's a few bits I'd like to change but never seem to find the time!

Thanks for the reply. Sorry to sound like it. I used to be a biker for YEARS and always wanted a landy. Just had a baby so decided no more 2 wheels going to take to a muddy for wheels. Meaning its left me very much a novice when i know so much about bikes. Its taking a bit of getting used to. From the link given i think my OS maps are out of date (BIG STYLE) So thankyou for giving me some information. And when you say pull up and walk them that is just what i wanted to do. But firstly i had to find them haha.

There is a guide to how to find lanes at the top of the greenlaning forum, unfortunatly it isnt as easy as just sending coordinates, the TRO's change all the time e.t.c.

I am fairly new to this, I have done a few laning trips now and its alot easier to tag along first, I will be doing a laning trip around colchester/chelmsford/maldon/sudbury way soo, once I have fixed my disco that is. It will be my first attempt at 'leading' a trip and has taken me a while to figure it all out

And no offence taken Freelander - im just new to it and must sound like a pain in the ass but i just need some guidance and will then get a hang of it in no time. Learning the Ins/Outs of a defender and how **** there Earths are is something im learning FAST haha

Nothing special, just running standard height HD shocks and springs with 2" lifting blocks and cracked arms.

Ok mate, winch has never let me down but I will probably take it apart and give it a good clean before I sell it anyway.
Rear shocks are +5.5" Pro Comp that have been on the truck about 6 months.

For anyone that doesn't know:
