I recon we can get the painting done over a couple of evenings.

I'm I Bristol tomorrow but hope to be home by 6 so that a couple of hours daylight, then I am in Southampton and Poole on Tuesday but can try and be home the same time, then the rest of the week should be around earlier.

Can't miss our shotgun rides over the off road course.

Gotta cover shift tuesday and thursday which means I'll be working till half 9. Hopefully will give me an hour on 2 in the mornings. Then leaves me with monday and wednesday night plus friday morning.

just remember if it involves a brush or roller with my painting skills it'll look ****e lol so ill leave that bit up to you and brian!

Come on chris what ya worried about what colour it is :D don't matter if it's painted or not, just look at me 90 got green sides a blue bonnet one silver rear panel and one grey side panel and a red oxide bulkhead, I'm driving the technicolour dream boat:D:D but still gona be there regardless:) oh that's if They manage to do the timing belt on weds:doh::D:D

Well what a crap day so far....... went out this morning to start the landy to go off to Clacton and collect the waffles but it wouldn't start.

Slow to crank, and then nothing.......

So no waffle boards today    Will try again tomorrow. Battery on charge at the moment. It wasn't in a position that I could jump start it either

So after a little faffing.... still dead :(

The battery is defiantly good. Earthed the - straight to the engine and that didn't do anything. Checked plugs round starter which were all clean and shiny.....

So pulled the starter off and took it to the local motorfactors to have a butchers. Should call me soon and tell me if thats ok or not.

is it dead totally?

I had this happen to me and I dug about found one of the plugs on the fuse board under the steering wheel was lose, pushed it in and a way I went.

The oil light is still out.....:D:D:D:D

Right. 2 sets of 35mm square jump leads together to make 70mm square and a jump start off an old Volvo estate and we have life :)

The starter has had a refurb by the local motor factors. All armature and brushes sorted but that didn't seem to do anything before the jumpstart :(

Will try tomorrow and see what happens! Brian, I'll let you know about the battery either way.

Now I do like to see commitment :D That'll look good if you cut back between layers. I've got mates with the old vw's and a lot of them are hand painted and they look better than a spray job after cutback and polishing :)

Keep going! Can't wait to see what it looks like.

In other news... It seems like it was a lazy starter causing my problems. Been out and started it and it turned over first time :D

Looking good with the paint job Chris,

been a bit of a **** week so far, plans seem to be going up the swany, work is f****** me about, thak god I start another one soon.

One good thing, looks like the oil light is still out, so it looks like it was the pressure switch. Looks like I may have a small leek from it now, will have to try to give it another tweak up.

Try getting a spanner on there and doing it up some more or failing that, I don't know whether we tried my offset ring spanners?

I haven't had no issues with the oil light coming on since changing my oil.

I also collected the waffle boards today, they're at work at the moment while I clear some space here.
