Classic Kev, may take you up on the offer as I am at the point of needing moral support.

No worries. Happy to help if I can but like I said, I'm not familiar with the P38 but I am sure that by applying basic principles and bouncing ideas off some of the guys here it can be sorted. If you want to hook up drop me a PM.

I `ve just been reading this and sympathise enormously - I had a DHSE about 5 years ago and it remains the worst car I have ever had - and I include a Vauxhall Viva, Chrysler Alpine, Two Lancias, four Alfa Romeos and eight other land rovers in that statement!
Had the RF problem (Radio ham across the road wiped the BECM), and all the rest of the usual stuff.
However, given that i currently have a 300TDI Disco and the missus has a TD4 Freelander, I am still addicted, and the next purchase is likely to be a 4.6 HSE. :)

I obviously need help.

took it out yesterday, did 8 miles, the new fuel pump packed up.

Took it out, hit it (enjoyed that part) put it back in and flattened the battery trying to start it. RAC rescue, jump started it and it ran. He followed me home, (3 miles) and despite a 30 min rest waiting for RAC it overheted as I got home.

It is now on ebay starting at £350 (value of reg no.)

I have had a call (less than 15 mins of listing ) from a breaker, so I may get my wish and if he wins, he has promised me some pictures as it gets stripped.

I just have this nightmare that like "Christine" in the book / film, it will rebuild itself and wait for me along the road....

so next week if it sells, I will be looking for a Defender. Should never have sold my last one.

Live and Learn.

Thank you to everyone on here, especially Datatek, Wammers, et al, you know who you are, for all the help over the last few years.

I will still be haunting these pages, only without the stress of needing help.

Sorry to hear that mate, atleast you gave it a good go, many would have given up the ghost ages ago....Range Rovers are for those who will tolerate the unreliability and the sheer stress inducing issues they have...

Deffies are cool, got one at work, can't get me out of it....!! Good Luck!

The witch has gone.

May she be broken into a thousand pieces and each piece broken in two.

Not bitter. much.

but the past is the past, except for my Defender memories.

so, the search for a county begins.....:screaming_bug_eye_f
