I have a 200tdi and this morning started fine then drove it for half a mile then took ages to start, then took it for a drive stopped and started it a thee times and one time it will start straight away others take a while ?

Any suggestions?
I was thing lift pump or starter moter?

What is it doing when it tries to start? Does it turn over? Smoke? Click?

Ye it turns over just does not fire up until after a couple of goes. But does not do it every time. Is it a sign of something going to stop working ?
