Hi, I have a land rover defender 2010, with 30000 km. Problem is when the car is cool or just started it runs fine. When you accelerate it for say 15 to 20 min or more precisely when the turbo is active, the engine slows down, which means the car will not accelerate, the turbo won't work and the car won't go beyond 60 km an hour. However when turbo is working it runs just great. I have noticed that if u accelerate it gently it will run fine for a long time. Problem happens only when turbo is rapidly engaged. Also once the problem starts if you stop the car for 5 to ten minutes is becomes normal again. What could this be? Anyone else experience this?

Have you had it plugged into a diagnostic computer?

Common faults are

turbo overboost due to sticky wastegate or modulator
faulty MAF sensor
Blocked EGR valve
gunked up MAP sensor
faulty coolant sensor or vehicle overheating

i didn't know this was a forum for idiots wanting to indulge in meaningless exchange of mean words they were perhaps a victim of while growing up...gentlemen please don't post here and waste everyones time.
Thank you for those who helped.
The problem was some debri from bad diesel in the fuel tank that was choking the filter and the diesel intake.
Solution cleaning of lines, fuel tank and a new filter and its running great.
Thanks

Strange sort of mauling to give a newcomer...??

Glad its sorted and filed away the result in case it happens to me. I was interested as I seem to have partially fixed the waste gate issue, but still not entirely sure we're up to full power. At least its not getting into limp mode any more. A
