Hey thanks for the info Datatek not wanting to pinch this thread but my RR is a DHSE 2001 model BMW engine . You refer to the latest RF receiver ! will mine not have the latest one , if not i will try find out where i can get one .

Once again many thanks and sorry for high jacking this thread.

Regards
Colin..

The last model receiver came out after production of the P38 stopped. You can see which one you have if you take it out of the box and compare to the pictures posted earlier on another thread. Island 4 x 4 seem to be about the best for the receiver. Don't buy off Ebay, you are likely to get an old receiver in a new case.

Thanks for that , now i know what to look for ,, i think :)

Colin.

As I said, I wouldn't touch one from Ebay, especially at that sort of price, no guarantee they are genuine Mk 3 units in the plastic housing.
Island 4 x 4 had them cheaper than that.

Unfortunately Mozz, the green sticker means bugger all as the insides get swapped. The only way to tell is to look at the circuit board.

Not in a position to comment on the second eBay link, but the first one is the eBay outlet for Fews, my local Land Rover main dealer. I bought an updated RF receiver from them a year or so ago. Expensive, but less expensive than continually replacing front door locks. My trials and tribulations with burnt-out door motors were documented on another RR site. But (touch wood) no more burnt door looks since. In summary, if you can't get one from a reputable supplier cheaper, then fews1 is a safe bet for a genuine one.

Thread hi jack here again. I am getting engine disabled read out on my P38a DT. I fitted my RF receiver from Island 4x4, no joy.
Is it plug and play or do I have to do a reset?

The RF receiver is plug n' play. If the engine disabled message was there before you fitted it it will not resolve the situation. As Saint V8 said, you will need the EKA code for your car. The new receiver will prevent other problems in the future.

Thanks lads, I'll input the EKA code this evening. I plugged it in last night I thought it might pick up the new sensor. The battery needed a charge anyway after my attempts at starting.
We had our first fall of snow here last night I would like to have taken the P38 to work instead of my mothers Polo that I have at the house for repairing.

nothing is working this is about the 15th time this engine disable has happened (in the past year) and the code trick is now not working RR 95 down 2 weeks now --- can i totally bypass this? please help! Thank you! :(
