There is a German company, Elsbett, that do conversion kits for various diesel engines to run on veg oil, either single or dual tank systems.

I am interested in their kit that is for the p38 Range Rover (M51 engine). Anyone running one of these? I am particularly interested in what modifications they do to the injectors to run 100% SVO.

They will alter to take account of viscosity and correct spray pattern.
They have been arround years and should know their stuff

So - say I want a single tank conversion - I guess it goes something like this.....

company takes your car off you - does nothing!! charges you money and gives it you back??

I'm in the wrong business!

you do know a P38 will run all day on Veg oil anyway?? in winter just add some Petrol to thin it down, I cover 400+ miles a week and have been running on straight Veg oil or bio with no problems - in this current weather -5 worst so far 60 litres of oil and 10 - 12 litres of petrol works just fine!

Pretty certain I remember someone on here saying you'll burn the lift-pump out about once a year or so doing SVO with no modifications.

I know the in tank pump is a weakness on 100% SVO. Most of the BMW forums recommend a solid state Facet pump which they say solves the problem.

I am presently running the car on a 50/50% SVO/diesel mix. I go up to 75% in the summer. Been running it for 18 months or so. No real problems.

I do not want or need to run bio and I certainly do not wish to make it. The M51 engine is quite happy to run on SVO.

There was a guy, I think on this forum, that was an agent for Elsbett. I was hoping he would chip in.

I've heard nothing but good things about Elsbett. As you say, I think it is pretty much down to stronger pump and bigger nozzles.
