I've been thinking about this a stop gap.. a 3,000,000 candlepower one..

I've noticed there are some very exaggerated candle power / lumins being used on LED torches and the like on Amazon and eBay. Either that or the scale isn't linear and exponentially drops off as the value rises.

Now I am back in the P38 foray, I have devised a method for the swap out of the clock lamp....dead simple....

First, ensure you have neough space for the job.
Next, get a small bottle jack and raise the front of the vehicle
Ensure you have space to get the gearbox cross member out
Begin the strip out of the interior with special attention paid to the centre console
Remove all the exterior body panels - you should have something like this by now:

Now, using a 1/4" socket set and a 3 tonne bottle jack, lift the body off the chassis:

Now remove the running gear and place in a chassis rig to ensure the chassis remains true while the bulb is replaced in the socket

Refit is the reverse....

I had to do this exact same thing to replace a bulb in the heater controller. The left temp adjustment rocker wasn't lighting up so I carried out the above, with a wonky arm an all

I feel such a fool.... What I "should" have done, was simply removed the clock bulb and replaced it while everything was out o_O

Now I'll have to do all this again! :(

No matter, I lost 1p down the front of the dash, so I'll be able to retrieve it while I'm back in there :)

It's all good :p

You can aslong as you use LR special tool number LRT-15-087A which is only available from Dingcroft at £1,276,891.89p without this tool, you will need to removed the rear mudflap.

That's a significant saving over the OEM part from Land Rover.

Buy matching pair so you and a colleague can each do one flap saving valuable time ;)

Great advice there

I can do away with all of the above problems as i was gifted a clock that not only winds up, but already has glowing hands AND it has 48v attachment for heating.

It came out of a Russian Hind helicopter that flew over Afghan in the 80's.

It keeps excellent time, long as you remember to wind it :D

How on earth did it "force" you to do it?
I've been running 7 for ages and apart from when 10 was first released and I was offered free upgrade, I've never been asked since.

ahh the Mi-24

I've been thinking about replacing the built in RR sat nav with the AH from a Mi-24 with a stand by Gyro and a cigar lighter the MI-8 one is a bit Freelander

I have read good reports of the 14 but never actually used one. Should be ok if the wheels dont fall off

My XP computer just refused to start!

I also have an old xp laptop for legacy jobs and that works fine too.
I'm finding I need it less and less but can't convince myself to bin it!

I wouldn't have binned mine but the motherboard went bang. Luckily I found a similar tower and managed to swap all the drives over but the "new" tower had Windows 10 installed so that was the end of XP for me.

Paint the face black.... and draw the time on it, it works for Lewis Hamilton, he has a watch on his gloves and it never moves, so if it works for him.....or buy the one left hand glove
