hi guys quick question, when I use my electric windows it seems to pop open the tailgate lock , with a strange clicking noise. When I press the window switch again, the dash board and sidelights flicking every time I press the button. When I get out And close the tailgate door and lock the freelander it seems normal again. I have tried disconnecting the battery, that's about the height of my mechical skills. All help appreciated

hi

have u checked ur earths on the battery and also earth to the chassis

sounds like maybe a loose earth somewhere ?

someone else may have a better idea

I'd say either the wiring to the window switch or widow motor is goosed, or the CCU (that controls the functions you describe) is goosed.

I think if it was my motor, I'd be taking it to an auto-electrician.

Thanks, have it now booked into an auto electrian, strange the nite, when driving in the dark , every time I put the full beams on the tailgate central locking clicked , when turned the full beams off, the interior light came on, better leave it to the professionals lol, I'll update this when the cause is found, for general info

Thanks again

does look like fun , that's for sure , was just wondering if any water has got into the electronics somehow or maybe a bad earth causing erratic behaviour
