99 P38 has immobilised itself.
Tried the EKA code, no good.
Searched on here and found that the rear doors are superlocked, disconnected the battery with the ignition on, all I get is the alarm sounding the EKA Lockout message. Rear doors still superlocked.
It has recently had a new drivers door lock, so thats not an issue. Passenger door lock is faulty, won't work on remote.
Am I missing something, doing something wrong?????
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you remove the cover on the right of the drivers footwell and press the enertia switch in, it then thinks you have had an accident and opens all the doors in overide mode, then reset afterwards. If this dose not work its beyond me. :)

Ps EKA to work need all doors and bonnet closed, if still no joy you going to have to syncmate or get the Handshake reset via the obd2 port under the passangers glovebox. :)

Thanks, will give that a go.
From what Ive read on here the doors need to be closed but unlocked, is that right?

Tried the 4 left, then the code, won't accept it.
Read on here that all doors must be closed but unlocked, but can't get the rears to unlock.
Going to try the inertia switch trick tomorrow, if that dont work, maybe a big hammer.

I know its very frustrating - it has been to me at times, but your car being a 99my should be new enough for the eka to be done using Testbook. From very distant memory it was BECM's with the pam micro version 36 on that could be unlocked via Testbook.Other than that you may end up sending the BECM to Rick at Callrova for a tickle.

have you tried putting the key in the ignition and pressing the unlock button on the fob???

Tried that, and pressing lock whilst locking door, and then unlock whilst unlocking. And disconnecting the battery with ignition on.
Wonder if theres anyone with Testbook in the Scunthorpe area.

so you're saying that the key fob is not unlocking the doors remotely??? and if you changed the lock on the drivers side who did it and was it done properly? surely you would have a different key fob now, and why you can't unlock and start the car??

Hi Flix

If it is immobilised and a late model vehicle it SHOULD be possible to enter the EKA via RovaCom or similar using the diagnostic connector in the passenger footwell. From our experience this doesn't always work though and sometimes the only fix is to direct access the BECM. We can do this, as can IrishRover and I believe CallRova in Brighton (although I had heard that they were no longer offering this service).

The doors and importantly the bonnet need to be closed, locked normally as this is why you are entering the EKA. Double check your bonnet switch works as this can really confuse things.

A few questions...

What message exactly are you getting on the display?
Has the BECM been changed to the best of your knowledge at any point?
Have you ever had the EKA working?
Do the lights flash when you turn the key to enter the EKA?
And back to a question kind of already asked...
Was the lock changed properly, were all the connections remade, was it a new lock, is it the right lock?
and finally...
What happenned to get the RR immobolised?

Some of these questions might seem odd, but this is a complicated system, the last thing you want to do is shell out for someone to direct access your BECM only to find the same thing happens again in six months time and you are in the same boat.

PM me if you want to have a chat over the phone.

Thanks
Andy

Door lock was changed for a new one a month ago, and up until yesterday locked/unlocked with remote.
Only had the car for 6 weeks so don't know any history.
Never had EKA work, only tried once before lock was changed, lock was deffo faulty though, had to lock drivers door manually. When I fitted the new lock, it worked with remote straight away.
No lights flash when trying EKA. Only alarm light.

Drove the car yesterday morning, parked it up for 4 hours, went to it and it wouldn't start, flattened the battery trying.
Recharged battery while on the car, then the problems started.
Turn on ignition and the message centre reads "Press remote or enter key code"
Guess it's all out of synch now.

Had to call a LR specialist out, he said that he can sort it with his laptop. Coming ASAP, so will let you know the result.

Don't know why I bought it, don't understand diesels or electronics.lol

Man with Autologic arrived. BECM is faulty and burnt out the unlock side of the new door lock. So wouldn't recognise the EKA.
He's picking the car up tomorrow, fitting 2 new door locks and getting the BECM repaired.
At least it'll be right when it's done.

That doesn't sound right somehow. The EKA code is recognised by microswitches in the door lock. I can't see how the BeCM would damage those although I could see it damaging the motor if it was being permanently driven. Maybe the BeCM just wasn't recognising the the signals from the door lock.

Hi Flix

I have to say I agree with Derek.

Also why two locks? Did the other door not lock with the key from the drivers door?

New door locks best part of £150 each, plus fitting probably an hour a door (maybe) another £100, 'fixing' the BECM minimum of £100. £500??? This is my guess, and I have to say it seems a little bit of an odd fault.

Sorry to put a spanner in the works, but some more investigating might be worth while.

Andy

The passenger door lock never worked.
He showed me on autologic that when the key was held in lock there was a feed, a ground in the centre position and no feed on lock.
He did say it could be a wiring fault but he'd investigate further.
Also when he locked/unlocked the front doors on autologic nothing happened but did on the rear doors.
It's a case of trusting the guy as I need it on the road ASAP.

Did you reconnect the battery with the ignition still on?
