Hi ,

Looking for more advice. After a few issues and a lot of help from RSW managed to get All Comms software to read the error codes on the L322 TD6 ECU.

I am not having any particular issue at the moment (just lots of little ones) but one error that is coming up is;

'Exhaust Gas Recirculation Error 2.'

Does anyone know what this error code means exactly. I am guessing it is related to the EGR Valve but trying to assess whether it needs looking at sooner rather than later.

Engine sometimes feels like it is holding back when cruising on the motorway but other than that seems OK. I don't get any black smoke on acceleration.

regards

Vince

Hi Saint,

Thanks for the quick reply. I have cleared all the codes out and will monitor how often it occurs. Idle tickover is fine and it pulls pretty well for an 11year old.

I was going to look at fitting an EGR blanking plate but I am wondering now if there is an EGR feedback circuit this may cause the MIL to come up. Has anyone got experience of fitting an EGR balnk plate to an RR TD6 (2004) ?

regards

TD6 EGR valve is vacuum operated and has no position feedback other than the MAF flow rate used by the ECU to modulate the EGR to control the exhaust gas flow rate when the EGR is in operation. As far as i am aware it can be blanked off without penalty. As many seem to have done. Ebay is awash with TD6 blanking adaptors at various price. Cheapest would just be disconnect vacuum hose.

Thanks Wammers,

Just in case, is there an easy way to make sure the valve is fully closed other than taking the pipes off to check.
